“Here am I. Send me!”
Isaiah 6:8b
At Living Rock Academy, we strive to educate the whole student and make education real. And we also provide the opportunity to apply each student’s education through serving in the community through our Outreach program.
Outreach is different at each level-
Elementary
Elementary students have a special class each Friday where the focus is on local and international missions. Grades K4 – 5 also take on projects that can be done in-house, focusing on service within our community. Once a semester, elementary students spend time with the residents at local retirement centers.
Middle School
Our Middle School students serve once a month through the Outreach program. Their ministry opportunities vary from assistant living home visits with the elderly, where we bring and assemble a craft with the residents, as well as do activities. Students also serve at the Pregnancy Care Center or Hill Country Daily Bread. It is incredible to observe their care and concern for others.
High School
Our high school students have the opportunity to serve three times a month. Because of our weekly service, they are able to make lasting connections with many in the community. Some students mentor at local elementary schools, others serve at the library, local food banks, or take the time to visit residents in assisted living homes. Each ministry opportunity is unique. Students are, at times, stretched beyond their comfort zone and learn their dependence on God by being placed in a variety of different outreach opportunities.
Be Different!
"It's the thing I love most about LRA."
"I love that our kids get to have this opportunity to serve in our community. It's the most impactful thing that we do at our school."
