Living Rock Academy's Cross-Curricular educational program gives our students opportunities for in-depth academic lessons combined with travel experiences. Our Cross-Curricular program allows our students to have the unique experience to:
"See it, Touch it, Live it, and Make Education Real!"
The Cross-Curricular program is a part of our entire school. The students in all grade levels are engaged in cross-curricular study. The teachers carefully plan a destination, such as the San Antonio Zoo, then design specific lessons focusing on the educational aspects of that site.
Elementary Students:
Experience two cross curricular trips per year!
Middle School Students:
Participate in one cross-curricular experience per quarter (four a year)!
High School Students:
Venture out on their “adventures” once a month and are involved in a “Trip Class” every Friday!
Trip Class provides the opportunity for in-depth studies in English, Social Studies, Math/Physics, Science, and Biblical Studies. For example, a cross-curricular field trip to UTSA's Center for Archeological Research would include studies in Biblical archeology, ancient civilizations, sediments and soil, and even a mock archeological dig using mathematical formulas to find artifacts!
