  • New Head of School joining our family on June 01, 2021

Living Rock Academy Board of Directors is pleased to announce the new Head of School joining our family on June 01, 2021! Dr. Michael Chivalette has served in the field of education for forty years, with twenty-eight years serving in Superintendent/Head of School capacities. Dr. Chivalette’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree (Bible Christian Education) from Philadelphia Biblical University (Cairn University), post-baccalaureate studies in secondary education at St. Joseph’s University, a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Cornerstone/Grand Rapids University, a Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Trinity Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Southwest Seminary where he completed his dissertation entitled, “The Truth in Christian Education, The Values That Define our Children.” He has also written and published numerous articles for Christian magazines and newspapers.

Before his calling into Christian School Administration, he served for 12 years as a Social Science (History, Sociology, and Psychology) Teacher for grades 6-12. He has also served as a Middle and High School Principal, Athletic Director, and Head Coach for basketball, soccer, and cross country at the high school and prep level. His diverse background in both academics and athletics has provided him with the training and experience to effectively oversee Living Rock Academy.

Dr. Chivalette came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 12 while attending a Billy Graham Crusade. He was greatly influenced by his godly mother, who taught him the value of Scripture memorization, and his father, who demonstrated the values of hard work and integrity. As a youth, he played basketball, baseball, soccer and ran track and cross country for Delaware County Christian High School, where he held numerous records in track and cross country. Due to his athletic and academic background success, he was offered four NCAA division II scholarships for basketball and track before finally deciding to attend Philadelphia Biblical University, majoring in Christian education/history.

During his tenure in Christian education, he has served on numerous accreditation teams while leading many of his schools through the ACSI© (Association of Christian Schools International) accreditation process. He holds a permanent license status, the important ACSI© Certification for “Superintendent,” as well as “All-Levels Principal.”

Dr. Chivalette’s strong belief in Christian education lends itself toward the desire to continually seek in raising the academic standards for his students while effectively training them toward becoming godly young men and women. Mike believes that God has called him to serve the Lord faithfully and obediently in seeking to support staff while leading students toward a life of service to the Lord. While serving in Christian education, he has spent time leveraging his strengths in professional staff development, marketing, and communications, capital campaigns, community involvement, and in developing and maintaining rigorous academic programs while meeting the individual needs of each student. Further, he believes it is essential that Christian schools should seek to become the trendsetter in the effective use of technology both inside and outside of the classroom setting.

Dr. Chivalette is married to the former Carol Ann Webb, who initially attended Tennessee Tech University majoring in geology who went onto win the “TTU Golden Hammer” award as the outstanding freshman geology student. She later changed her major to secondary English education, which enabled the Lord to bring Carol into Mike’s life as his future wife. He has been blessed to have such a wonderful wife who is a strong follower of Christ and outstanding middle and high school English/science teacher.

Although God has not blessed them with children, they have grown to love and impact the lives of those children that He has allowed them to instruct and aid in equipping them for serving the Lord. One of his favorite verses is found in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.”

Please welcome Dr. Chivalette as he joins the LRA family on June 01, 2021, spending time with Glen for a period of leadership transition. His initial Contract will be for the next three school years.
