A little less than four years ago the idea of starting LRA was planted on the hearts of several families and in only a few short months those original thoughts grew into reality as God provided in ways that no one could imagine. Provisions of land, a building, families, and staff all came as needed and in His perfect timing. Since then we have continued to be amazed by how God has grown our school family and campus, including the soon to be completed multi-purpose building/gym!

We have also seen our campus enrollment double over that short amount of time. While this increase is a huge blessing to our school it is also a definite challenge for us from a facility standpoint. Knowing that we are nearing our maximum capacity for our current building, our school leadership has continued to seek options and plans to try to solve this issue. As a result of this prayerful process, the LRA Board of Directors has entered into negotiations to purchase the Lighthouse Christian Learning Center facility located on Bulverde Road near our existing campus. If finalized, this property would provide us with the required added space necessary to grow our campus and better serve our families and the local community.

This process remains in the negotiating phase, and we are still finalizing all of the specific plans for that campus. However, we do know that part of the plan is to utilize the facility as an early learning center and expand our class offerings to be able to provide a PreK-3 class for the 2019-20 school year. We know there are still numerous details for us to work out; however, we are very excited to be able to grow our ministry and be able to provide this additional service to our families and the community.

We know that many of you will have additional questions and as more details are finalized, we will be sure to pass on that information. We normally would have held off on sharing this information until more details could be given; however, some of this information was passed on to families in the current daycare and we wanted to make sure our families heard about this from us instead of from other sources. In the meantime, please know that every effort will be made to ensure that we maintain the current campus environment that has been created by having all of our classes under one roof. This has been one of the biggest unexpected benefits that we have seen over these past few years and one that we only would have realized through the way that God brought this school together. We have always known that this would be one of our biggest challenges as we grew and we will remain committed to keeping this important aspect of our school intact moving forward.

For now, I ask that everyone in our school family join us in prayer as we continue to seek His will for His school. We are excited to share this news and look forward to what He has in store for all of us!

In His service,
James Johnson, Head of School
Larry McNeill, LRA Board Chairman
