At Living Rock Academy, the quest for excellence begins in elementary school, where we seek to provide students with challenging, innovative, and Christ-centered education. As students enter this advanced, academically focused environment, our highly qualified staff, and specialists further enhance our curriculum.
All elementary classes study the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Bible. Students also participate in special classes each week: physical education, music, art, and community outreach.
Our Apple education platform allows teachers to digitally integrate their instruction with the students’ use of iPads and MacBooks. Mimio board technology is also available to students to further their understanding through fun and exciting activities.
Our campus-wide Outreach program teaches students to serve in a variety of ways. PreK-through 5th grade participates in a weekly Outreach class to learn the meaning of service and how to be the hands and feet of Christ. Elementary students do special projects to serve our community during off-campus outreach trips.
At each grade level, students read a variety of literature and create unique projects. Field trips help to expand knowledge and provide hands-on experiences. We believe that students learn best in a stimulating environment. Therefore, LRA uses a variety of learning activities on our campus.
A highlight of each week is our chapel service. On this special day, all elementary classes join secondary for a time of worship and praise.
The instruction of Scripture is not isolated to specific lessons. Because all of our teachers have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they teach from a Biblical worldview. Our elementary teachers teach to the heart of our students, so they not only learn core skills and areas of study but also understand how they are a unique part of God’s intended purpose.
Above all, our goal is to teach children to seek the Kingdom of God and to glorify Him in all we do. We firmly believe in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.” We strive not only to instill Christ-like character in our students but also to train them on how to apply Scripture to their daily lives.
