What a great year it’s been for middle school outreach class! The students have served tirelessly both on campus and off. With LRA being so new, there are always projects to keep our group busy. One of our favorite on campus activities is our monthly Prayer Walk where we pray for our school and our community.
We participated in several off campus projects as well. At the beginning of the year, we spent time at Franklin Park Assisted Living, Bulverde Thrift Store and Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center. One of our main outreach locations this year was Hill Country Daily Bread. We did a variety of jobs there, including packaging and labeling food, putting together a stage, painting, sorting, weed pulling and anything else that needed to be done.
Our last off campus outreach of the year was at the Fisher House located in the medical center. Our 8th graders used their culinary skills from 4H to prepare a meal for the families staying at the Fisher House, while the 6th and 7th graders helped with cleaning.
What an honor to serve the elderly, veterans and those who need extra help in our community. The middle school students demonstrated God’s love as they served in and around our community.
