The mission of the LRA Art Club is to promote the arts at LRA and the surrounding community through the development of student artists.
The organized instruction relating to the mission is a part of the art education program at LRA. The purpose of the organization shall be as follows:
- To provide opportunities for personal development of skills and appreciation of the Arts.
- To provide opportunities for the promotion of personal works and career development.
- To provide opportunities of promoting the arts at LRA and the surrounding community.
- To provide opportunities to promote LRA and the surrounding community through art.
CHESS CLUB is open to 3rd through 5th grade students. Chess teaches students 5 important skills:
- Attention to detail
- Difficult concepts
- CollaborationChess Club
Students were most excited at the new addition of Coding Club which began this Wednesday. Some the apps used were Kodable, Lightbot, Scratch Jr, Goldie Blocks, and Code.org. As the year progresses, students will begin creating their own games and projects using Scratch which is a program
designed by MIT to encourage young students to learn coding.
